Instructor and personal trainer Samantha van den Brink reveals its advantages: "This sports inspired workout of thirty minutes raises your performance level and gives you more balance and stability. The training is apt for all fitness levels and ages, because you can decide the intensity level yourself. CXWORX is not so much an addition to your other sports activities, but is literally fundamental for all your movements. Both in your workouts as in your daily life you will profit from a stronger core. The workout consists of dynamic exercises on popular music, both standing up and on the floor, using tubes. Those who come and do this workout twice a week will soon notice improvement of their posture and performance. A strong core is a wonderful feeling."
     
   
     

Why is core training important?

Samantha van den Brink: "The core of your body is the basis of all your movements. Strong core muscles have a positive effect on your physical health. You become more powerful, which will help you in both your sports and daily activities, like lifting. Next to that you will have better balance and bigger mobility. A strong core helps to prevent (sports) injuries, just because your core muscles are fundamental for all of your movements."

 

TIP: in strength training (with weights) you also use your core muscles. Therefore, it is better to do the CXWORX workout after your strength exercises instead of before.
