Our charity is Villa Joep. Why? Because children shouldn't die of childhood neuroblastoma cancer. And because Villa Joep spends 100% of donations it receives on research to find a cure for this terrible disease.

Joep gave his name to Villa Joep. Doctors discovered a neuroblastoma tumor in his abdomen on November 25th, 2002. He was 3,5 years old at the time. Less than a year later, on Ocober 21st 2003, he died of this disease, just four years old. His parents, Rowald and Leontine Steijn, decided to continue to fight against childhood neuroblastoma cancer and founded Villa Joep.
What does Villa Joep do?
Villa Joep collects money for research aimed specifically at childhood neuroblastoma cancer. Villa Joep's ambition is, to improve survival rates for children suffering from childhood neuroblastoma cancer, and ultimately cure each and every patient. Villa Joep wants to achieve this by starting research aimed specifically at preventing neuroblastoma. By setting up and improving cooperation between parties in the field and raise awareness of childhood neuroblastoma cancer.
